So what happened last week ending 15th May 2020?

Conditional Movement Control Order

The Prime Minister (PM) has announced on Sunday, 10th May 2020 to extend conditional movement control order (CMCO) until 9th June 2020. That is 4 weeks of CMCO. As I have predicted from PM announcement earlier; he has already hinted that they will extend MCO. But I never guess that this time around it will take 4 weeks. It was also announced last week that we are allowed to gather for Aidilfitri celebration with these conditions,

• for one day only
• must not cross-district or state
• must not consist of more than 20 people

Opening of Shopping Malls

Shopping malls start to open up. It has been 2 months since they last opened. The first photo that I saw was mould on retail outlet and cinema seat. Who would expect that? The second photo was seeing people flocking the malls with their children. facepalm

Selling Off a Well Know Italian Restaurant

Sad news indeed. The famous Little Italy in KK is closing down. They have announced to sell the establishment including their food preparation factory to any interested party. They did not specifically say that it is because of the current pandemic, only that the owners wanted to migrate.

Sabahan Students Coming Home

Sabahan students who were studying in Peninsular Malaysia are finally coming home. They were allowed to be quarantined at their own home. Not long after that, it was reported that some of the students did not follow the quarantine procedure and went out. To Make matters worse, two of them were tested positive with Covid-19.

My unit trust investment value went up to 7.95% as compared to 6.30% last week. If I didn’t do portfolio rebalancing, my investment value would be at 5.27%. How is your investment doing?
