My Unit Trust Investment as of 10th April 2020

So what happened last week?

The Prime Minister (PM) on 6th March has announced additional stimulus package for the SME worth RM10 billion to help ease the financial burden suffered by the Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs). With a lot of businesses could not resume work, many are thinking of letting go or paying half salary of their workforce, hope this will help lessen the burden on our local economy. Early this week I’m already seeing an acquaintance seeking help to feed his family. Though I’m not doing that great during this period, my friends and I chipped in to help him.

On other business, I’ve opt-in to try Facebook’s new beta layout for desktop user a few weeks ago. It looked very clean, not much clutter from what I’m used to. And it mimics the mobile layout. What interest me is that during this pandemic, I have COVID-19 Information Centre on the left menu. Good easy access to pandemic news, less news from self-proclaimed news provider, if you know what I mean.

And while passing the time, I manage to take a photo of the Super Pink Moon, 2 days after the supposed event. I need to get more early updates on this, plus a new camera lens.

Parents have expressed their concerns on the pandemic and the majority agree that school session should only resume after we fully recovered from the pandemic. That, from my own reading and understanding, would take a very long time. But I think its better that than having them infected. And since the number of new cases hasn’t gone down, the PM office has announced to extend the Movement Control Order (MCO) to another 2 weeks. Somehow Malaysian already anticipated this news. But with the extension, a few industries are now allowed to resume business, to gradually revive our economy.

How Unit Trust Investment do last week?

3 April 20200.40%39%61%

My unit trust investment value is up to 2.07% as compared to 0.40% last week. If I didn’t do portfolio rebalancing, my investment value would be at -1.12%. Because of my scheduled portfolio rebalancing, I have switched my holding heavier to equity fund, taking advantage of the low price. How is your investment doing?
