Clean Slate Protocol

What’s that? If you are a fan of Iron Man movie series, then you know what it means. I did a clean slate protocol on my blog, a few days ago. A tedious work but it had to be done.

For the past months, I have been getting notification of a few attempt to hack into my blog. Not to deface it but rather, getting spam bot running. It didn’t bother that much until I was lock out from my server. Not my blog but my server. While I was concentrating on my blog, I didn’t bother to check my server. Simple thing to do, I’ll get my server provider to reset the password for me. Done. Not quite.

Few days ago, the server provider, which is also a friend of my notify me that my account was sending spam. The server IP had to be blacklisted because of that. According to him, it had been going on for long time now. I was devastated. There’s one only thing that I can only do. The clean slate protocol.

So here I’m, getting the important files backed up before having my whole life deleted. Setting up my blog was the easy part. Getting it run again the way it USED to be is not. But I’m happy to tell, after a few hour of tweaking (because I’m not a computer engineer hence the long hour), it is up and running.

Moral of the story, when somebody tried to hack into you site, TAKE NOTE! I’m starting to do frequent password change from today.
