4 Ramadan 1434 AH – Shaved Ice Quest

Basically, it’s stay at home day. My original plan was to work on Melisa, apart from finding solution to blog post via iOS. Instead, I only did my regular 1000 km engine oil & battery check on Bora, and cleaned the battery top and terminal using bicarbonate solution. And you wonder why I don’t use dry cell type? I just like to get my hand dirty. And also, A man should at least know what’s under the hood and do a little bit of light maintenance. Save you money in the long run. Other than that, I just doze off, after driving my wife to work.

You know what I hate about Ais Batu Campur? When they use chipped ice rather than shaved ones. They don’t make ABC’s like they used to, using that green machine to shave a block of ice. Seriously, have you ever seen it on any bazaar anywhere? Maybe because they don’t make it anymore? Maybe all of them are replaced with electric motor type? So that’s why, every year, I would walk pass by all stall, looked at the nicely arranged pack of ABC, deducing whether it’s made from chipped or shaved ice. Never failed to find one. I now know which stall at Putatan Ramadan Bazaar sells shave ice ABC. Mission accomplished. I have yet to find the best murtabak stall in Putatan.

Other than my usual ABC & murtabak, I also have Hati Buya, just like what Sabahan calls it, it’s cow’s lung. What I didn’t know is that my sister in-law had prepared fried rice noodle, and sirap bandung. So I’m sipping my ABC while typing this entry. Today’s coffee count? 2 mugs. The first one is Infocafe 3-in-1 instant coffee. The second one is Nescafe with fresh milk. Ya you heard me, fresh milk. Nice.
