All I want for Christmas is my two front teeth, my two front teeth…
It’s the time of the year again, some of my Christians friends are already in the Christmas mood, and some have started hunting for gifts. Its also the time of year my company is organising a Christmas exchange gift. Yes we do it every year except for last year where everyone was busy. Those who are interested or would like to get into the mood will give their names to the person-in-charge. Those names would later be put on a small piece of paper and place in a container where those who are joining will pick a name, just a name. You cannot put back that name back if you don’t like what you’re getting and pick another one. That cheating! After picking a name, you’ll have to buy that person a gift and also a gift for the person who are giving you a present. So everyone is going back with two presents!
I remember when we first stated this, it’s was back in 2003, the year I was attached to this company. My ex-colleague Angie, whom stated working with the company in that same year and also my school junior came up to me and asked whether I’m interested with the idea. I was all so excited, never done it before, thinking of hunting for a gift might be fun, and it is up until today. So we went all over the office, explaining how it would be done, you might say we were the ones who started this in the office. She left the company early of this year, working with Auto Bavaria KK. Lucky girl hehehe…
Anyway, the first year, everyone was supposed to give a present to whom they have picked, no give back present, fearing it might back fired.
So the second year, when everyone sees how much fun it was to do gift exchange, we make that “front and back” present rule. Everybody was into it.
As I mentioned earlier on, we didn’t do it last year. This year, I hope it would be much more fun and joy, the company has seen a few who left for better opportunities, and more new face (have to convert half of the conference room to expand Engineers room). To the person wearing (let me see now…) maroon, white, light green and red baby-T, thank you for bringing the idea to the office. I’ll be coming to your new office to have that free Coffee and camwhoring with a few of your babies’ hehehehe.
Now! To the person who pick my name, let me make it easier for you to find my gift. It’s not big, in fact, it’s micro size, a 4GB micro SD to compliment my Nokia E71. Or if you can’t get that, I want two car hand phone holder, each for my Nokia E71 and Nokia 6120. And please, give me some clue as to what gift you want me to return back. OK? Whose name I picked? It’s a secret; I’ll disclose it after the Gift Exchange later on.
