2008 Christmas Gift Exchange

Finally, the waiting is over. The anxiety to know what you’ll be getting, what the others will be getting, seeing those happy and surprised (or that “What is that? Never mind, just keep smiling.”) faces is here. Unfortunately my anxiety was dampen by a Notice of Meeting from Forestry Department. They wanted to know which part of their land that was in the proposed new road project.

Woke up at about 5 in the morning because I need to pick up the Environmental Engineer at about 6 a.m. before driving up to Ranau. I would have probably stopped by somewhere near Tamparuli but I would have to settle with taking picture while driving.

The morning view while driving up to Ranau was also great. It’s a shame that I have to reach Ranau by 8 am, or else I would have stopped to take some photos. Maybe I’ll just go there by myself early in the morning and take some photos. Mau ikut ka Kaesen?

Reached Ranau at about 8:10 am and stopped at one of the restaurant to have breakfast, the meeting with Sabah Forestry was at 8:30 am. At about 9 we drove up to Togop, then going off road towards Marak Parak, driving as far as the road permit. If only the road was not cut off, we could just drive in, instead we have to walk a total of 6km up and down. I used my Nokia E71 to get the trip distance.

I don’t really mind the hiking actually, I love hiking. For that hike, we were rewarded with a deer!

I couldn’t get a clearer picture. I forgot to switch my camera back to 10MP. I usually use 3MP for work purpose. We finished at about 12pm, have lunch at the same place we have our breakfast then went home.

OK, now with the presents! I stopped by at my office to get my presents.
